Goosebumps

Written by Charles - 29 March 2012

Long before Harry Potter and Twilight, in the beginning of the 90′s, Goosebumps (by R.L Stine) was the most popular book serie for kids.Groovy colors on the cover and creepy titles, Goosebumps were horror fiction novel for children. Werewolves, vampires, weird creatures, demons, witches and fantasy beasts were the main characters. And the clever marketing made you want to have all of the books, since the covers were so “cool” to look at.

PS : I had to read these books at my friends place since my parents wouldn’t let me read them..

The Kanker Sisters

Written by WOWFlashback - 6 June 2011

These three girls were obsessed with Ed, Edd n Eddy. May preferred Ed, Marie preferred Edd, and Lee preferred Eddy. The girls tormented the boys with hugs, kisses and all sorts of other torture. The Kanker Sisters’ emotions ran differently every episode. Sometimes they would have a hate for the boys, other times, strong affection. Either way, Ed, Edd n Eddy did not like it. The boys always ran at the sight of them. The sisters usually won over them. Though sometimes, the boys did manage to escape.

The Wuzzles is a cartoon produced by Disney Studio with creatures composed of half one animal and half another… and wings. They all live on the Isle of Wuz and… that’s all I remember :) Only 13 episodes were produced and they were first broadcast on CBS in 1985, then on ABC.

The Sega CD is an add-on device for the Sega Genesis video game console. It adds a CD-ROM drive to the console… don’t laugh ! It was quite a thing to have videogames on CD in 1992. I miss my genesis…

Garbage Pail Kids

Written by ImThatOld - 18 March 2011

As a 80s kid, you must be familiar with the Garbage Pail Kids trading cards. Each character had a funny name related to his abnormality, sometimes quite disturbing. That’s certainy why my parents didn’t like it that much and it was banned from my school. For us the rule was simple : the more disgusting it is, the more valuable it is.

The trading cards series was released in 1985 by Topps Company.

They also made a (bad… really bad) movie in 1987 :

Maybe I’m the only one but I never noticed it was a parody of the Cabbage patch dolls
