Space Jam

Written by ImThatOld - 10 February 2012

As a 90s kid in the 90s, there’s 2 things I loved above all : cartoons (of course.. candys could have been also a correct answer) AND Michael Jordan. So, when they decided to mix both, it just blew my mind ! Bugs Bunny and His Airness together in a movie. Wow.

Storyline : The owner of “Moron Mountain”, an extraterrestrial theme park ,decide to send his minions, the “Nerlucks” to capture the Looney Tunes as a new attraction for his failing park. The Looney Tunes challenge them to a basket ball game, because the minions are very small. But they steal talent of NBA superstars : Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Larry Johnson and others and become giant basket-ball monsters. Michael Jordan, who was freshly retired was not captured and tries to help Bugs Bunny and his squad to win the game. oh.. and Bill Murray is the coach :)

The Goonies

Written by ImThatOld - 17 May 2011

The Goonies is the best adventure-comedy film for kids ever… prove me wrong ! The movie is about a treasure hunt with a band of children from the “Goon Docks” who hope to save their homes from demolition. It’s the treasure of a legendary pirate named One-Eyed Willie. The map leads the goonies to an abandoned seaside restaurant the hideout of the Fratellis, a family of fugitives, with the unforgettable deformed borther : Sloth.

Ok, I want to watch it again now. You have probably seen this movie in a cinema in 1985… 26 years ago.

What the goonies actors look like now?

Michael “Mikey” Walsh (Sean Astin)

Ferris Bueler’s Day off

Written by ImThatOld - 21 March 2011

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

Ferris Bueller decides to skip by faking an illness and takes with him his girlfriend and his best and always pessimistic friend (with his father’s Ferrari). Meanwhile, his sister and the school’s dean of students try to trap him.

To me the most unforgettable scene is the one where he starts singing Twist and Shout :

The movie was released in 1986, 25 years ago ! Here’s the trailer :

Labyrinth

Written by ImThatOld - 8 March 2011

Sarah, a 15 years girl, is stuck babysitting her half-brother Toby so she wishes the goblins to take away the crying baby… and they did. Because she doesn’t want to be punished by her parents for losing her brother, she has to solve the Labyrinth in 13 hours and save the baby.

To be honnest, i only remember that I was REALLY scared of all the creatures she meets… including David Bowie :)
