Who remembers that gummy thing: Nickelodeon Gak Splat by Mattel ? I remember making fart noises with it, stretch it, throwing it on my toys…what a weird “toy” to play with ! Here is what the makers said about it : “Gak is thick and will stretch and break like Silly Putty, but it will flow and is cold to the touch like Slime. The Gak can be twisted and squeezed and different colors can be mixed. Gak is stored in an amoeba shaped plastic container called a “Splat” and will make rude noises when stuffed in the Splat.”

Apparently they are making and new version of Gak and it’s called Splish Splat..Looks like the “gum” war is not over after all!

Long before Harry Potter and Twilight, in the beginning of the 90′s, Goosebumps (by R.L Stine) was the most popular book serie for kids.Groovy colors on the cover and creepy titles, Goosebumps were horror fiction novel for children. Werewolves, vampires, weird creatures, demons, witches and fantasy beasts were the main characters. And the clever marketing made you want to have all of the books, since the covers were so “cool” to look at.

PS : I had to read these books at my friends place since my parents wouldn’t let me read them..

Captain Planet is an environemtalist animated tv show…. yeah, doesn’t sound fun said like that At the beginning of the 90s, it suddenly became obvious that we were polluting too much. So they start to communicate a lot about how we have to behave to save our planet. But how to explain that to kids ? cartoons. 21 jumpstreet taught me not to do drugs and Captain Planet to respect environment. Thanks to TV I’m a good person

Gaia, spirit of earth started to worry about earth and hired 5 teenagers from all over the planet : Kwame is from Africa, Wheeler from North America, Linka from Eastern Europe, Gi from Asia and Ma-Ti from South America and gave them rings with super power : earth, wind and fire (couldn’t resist) water and.. love. Yeah right… and they all fight together to protect the planet. Sometimes (often) when they’re running out of ideas, they combine the power of their rings to call Captain Planet (a blue guy with red underwears basically…). I can’t remember why, but I used to love this show

As a 90s kid in the 90s, there’s 2 things I loved above all : cartoons (of course.. candys could have been also a correct answer) AND Michael Jordan. So, when they decided to mix both, it just blew my mind ! Bugs Bunny and His Airness together in a movie. Wow.

Storyline : The owner of “Moron Mountain”, an extraterrestrial theme park ,decide to send his minions, the “Nerlucks” to capture the Looney Tunes as a new attraction for his failing park. The Looney Tunes challenge them to a basket ball game, because the minions are very small. But they steal talent of NBA superstars : Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Larry Johnson and others and become giant basket-ball monsters. Michael Jordan, who was freshly retired was not captured and tries to help Bugs Bunny and his squad to win the game. oh.. and Bill Murray is the coach

I first saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers in a Simpsons episode of the 4th season : “Krusty gets cancelled” which was first aired in the USA on May 13, 1993.
